Dental Bridges

Bridges are a common restorative treatment for replacing missing teeth. A bridge is a custom-made device that is anchored to adjacent teeth or implants. It is made of a false tooth which is held in place by two crowns.

The bridge literally “bridges” the gap left by the missing tooth. Bridges are made of porcelain or porcelain fused to metal, depending on the patient’s preference.

The dentist will first prepare the teeth on either side of the gap. Impressions are taken of the teeth and the bridge is made in a dental laboratory. Once the bridge is complete, it is cemented in place.
